While interning at Vogue last year, I started reading Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar and it made quite an impact. It is the story of a girl who is doing an internship at a big woman’s magazine in New York in 1963. The glamourous world and job she has always dreamed of and that magazines project she finds to be empty, false and disorientating and descends into depression and madness.
